Irish National 2007 Result

\"IrishChampion jockey, Tony McCoy rode the Cheltenham Festival winner Butler\'s Cabin to victory in the Irish Grand National in 2007. The 14-1 shot, was trained by Jonjo O\'Neill and beat Ferdy Murphy\'s Nine de Sivola in a close run race by a length. Third was American Jennie, while rank outsider, Church Island finished 4th. It was a tremendously game performance by the winner who had been distressed when winning the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, less than 4 weeks earlier.

A delighted O\'Neill said the horse had recovered really well from his Cheltenham appearance and he could not resist giving him his chance, McCoy said "Any horse that can win over four miles at Cheltenham and then win an Irish National is obviously very special,"

Butlers Cabin held off a determined challenge from the runner-up Nine de Sivola. The two went clear after the second last, but up until then, there were still plenty of horses in with a chance, including the race favourite, Kings Advocate, ridden by twice Irish Grand National winner, Ruby Walsh. He was the first horse to complete a Cheltenham-Irish National double since Omerta achieved the feat on the back of his 1991 Kim Muir success.
