Fairyhouse Racecourse
The famous Fairyhouse racecourse is situated 12 miles to the north west of Dublin, and is just off the main N2 or N3 motorways. It is less than an hours drive from Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre. See Irish Grand National Travel for further details.
Fairyhouse is synonymous with the Irish National Hunt and its biggest race each year is the Irish Grand National, which is run, each year on Easter Monday. It has staged the race throughout its 139 year old Irish Grand National history. The very first race meeting however, was held at Fairyhouse in 1848 where it staged the point to point meetings of the Ward Union. The union still stages point to points at the course in the winter months.
Despite the gruelling 3 miles and five furlong course and its 23 difficult fences, Fairyhouse is one of Ireland's fairest courses and will always attract quality horses from both the flat and the National Hunt.
